How does the rebreather remove the carbon dioxide from the exhaled air?

The rebreather uses a process called scrubbing to remove the carbon dioxide from the air the diver breathes out.  The removal of the carbon dioxide is done with the use of a chemical that traps the carbon dioxide and holds it.
