There are different levels of wreck diving, just as there are different levels of other types of sports. For instance, some skiers stick to the resort slopes, where many people ski regularly and the risks are low, and others ski virgin snow in high mountain passes, where the risks are far greater. As a wreck diver you may feel safer as a recreational wreck diver, which means that you are exploring the exterior of a wreck without penetrating the wreck and you are staying within the natural light. The risks associated with this type of wreck diving are low. However, if you are the more adventurous type, then you might find that you want to explore the interior of the wreck and maybe the first to do so. You want to get inside and see what history has left behind. This is definitely riskier.
