What should I do in a diving emergency?

If you or someone you are diving with has a diving emergency deal with it as best you can as per the training you have received and then call local emergency services and the Divers Alert Network (DAN) if applicable, which is located at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.  DAN is equipped to deal with medical emergencies that result from diving and can also direct divers to the nearest hyperbaric chamber or other medical facility.
