The main characteristic that sets crustaceans apart from insects in that they have two sets of antennae whereas insects only have one set of antennae. In addition to this, insects have a very distinct physiology, including three body parts and six legs. In contrast, crustaceans can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes with any number of appendages.
