What is hypoxia and how can it be identified?

Hypoxia occurs when the body is deprived of oxygen; symptoms include headaches, fatigue, nausea, shortness of breath, a feeling of euphoria, confusion, priapism, seizures, and cyanosis or a blue color to the skin and extremities.
