What happens in "Fight or Flight" Syndrome?

Fight or flight is the way a normal person reacts to stress and is a survival instinct. The sympathetic nervous system releases adrenaline which stimulates the heart and increases blood flow to the muscles. The brain is alerted and respiration increases. Thus a person is primed to either fight or run away.
