Is rebreather diving dangerous?

Rebreather diving does come with its dangers as the breathing system is different and this requires the diver to be very familiar with and aware of their equipment.  The main dangers are ending up with too low of an oxygen level or too high of a carbon dioxide level in the diver's gas mixture.
