How can sharks be protected?

Stricter regulations and enforcement is of primary importance in order to ensure that shark populations can bounce back and remain healthy.  Controls on the number of sharks that can be legally killed and protected areas are important and extra protection for the great white is crucial to its survival.  More sophisticated methods of repelling sharks and keeping them away from swimming areas is also needed.
