When it comes to physical conditioning, equipment preparation, and dive planning, men are on par with women. However, where men differ is in the food department. Men need a far higher caloric and nutritional intake than women and this means that they must prepare more than women by eating more. If men do not have enough calories and nutrition prior to a dive their performance may suffer.
