Can I wear a dental brace and dive?

Wearing a brace in a young fit diver should not pose a problem as braces and teeth are not compressible. In some divers the act of biting down on the block in a scuba regulator mouthpiece may cause some soreness or tension on teeth that are still being realigned with a brace.
