Can I dive if I have endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a condition in which there are endometrial cells that occur outside of the uterus and these will undergo cyclical bleeding just as the uterus does each month.  This can cause increased cramping and pain because it will cause blood to be released in the endometrial tissue that cannot escape the body.  When women are experiencing these intense symptoms it is best for them to avoid diving, but at any other time a woman should not be at any greater risk for diving injuries or conditions than the average person.
