Can I dive after having a hysterectomy?

A hysterectomy is a complete removal of the uterus from the abdominal wall via surgery and as such, the general rules of surgery apply.  Women who have had a hysterectomy should wait a minimum of eight weeks before diving again and they should consult with their doctor before they take their first post-op plunge.
