Are men at less risk for a cold injury than women?

No, men are still at risk for cold injury, because they have less subcutaneous fat than women, they have a thinner shell (the space between the skin surface and the circulation of the body) than women, and they have a higher skin temperature than women when in the water, something that causes a higher temperature gradient and that means that men lose more heat faster.
