Why should I refrain from diving if I have a cold or flu?

When someone has a cold or flu, congestion around the Eustachian tubes and sinuses is very common; this may prevent equalization of the air tubes due to excess pressure.  You should refrain from diving until you have fully recovered to avoid injury.
