Is liver cirrhosis a contraindication to diving?

Liver cirrhosis is a chronic condition caused by fibrosis of the liver tissue and most commonly due to alcoholism or hepatitis. If the condition is mild and there are no other systemic medical problems, a diver should be able to dive. In severe cases, individuals are usually too sick to dive.
