How can we protect marine invertebrates?

The primary danger to marine invertebrates is bottom trawling, which disturbs their habitat, and sediment deposits due to coastal development.  By establishing marine protected areas there will be places where marine invertebrates will be able to live without the destruction and this will help to keep their numbers high and keep them off the endangered list.
